Rock N Roll Manifesto 98

It’s been a crazy week or two here at RnRManifesto HQ, and that called for not one, but two Beer Minutes tonight. Both beers were from the great, local Millbock Brewing Company. In between all that beer talk I played lots of great music from 50’s rock n roll to psychobilly, punk rock, rockabilly, power pop, mod, blues and even a ska song (WTF?). There was also another installment of Christian’s great Brats in Leather Jackets. Yes!!

Have any ideas for what I should do for my 100th show? I think maybe something special is in order, but I have no idea what. Hoping my lovely listeners can help me out with that. Let me know!

Both Kinds of Music: Country AND Western

Honky Tonk Friday! There was no Mojo Workout tonight, so I filled in the time slot with both kinds of music: Country AND Western. Almost 3 hours of it! I don’t normally record the off-night shows, but I thought I’d put this one out there for you podcast downloaders. This show was mostly classic country, but I also threw in some newer stuff and some alt-country towards the end of the show. Hope you dig it!

Rock N Roll Manifesto 97

Only 3 away from #100, folks. This episode had the usual fare you’ve come to expect on the Rock N Roll Manifesto. Punk rock, R&B, rockabilly, hardcore, 50’s rock & roll, psychobilly, hard rock, pub rock, glam, and much more!

A brand new segment made it’s debut tonight: Diggin’ Through the Record Crate. You’ll have to let me know what you thought of it. I probably won’t do it all the time, just now and then, or whenever there’s no Brats in Leather Jackets segment. Sound off about the new segment either here, on Facebook, Twitter or Google+.

Tonight’s Beer Minute was an IPA that I’ve never had before, but it wasn’t great. Oh well, they can’t all be winners, I guess. Hope you enjoy the show!

Rock N Roll Manifesto 96

Listener requests! Brats in Leather Jackets! Rapid Pulse Records sneak peeks! New Tranzmitors! A band submission! Blog finds! A listener suggested Beer Minute! What more could you ask for?

This was a fun show, I hope you enjoy it as well. Lots of punk rock, some hardcore, rockabilly, psychobilly, power pop and much, much more!

Rock N Roll Manifesto 95

Was this a good show? You be the judge. The first part of the show just seemed a bit sub-par to me, and for that, I apologize. It’s not that the bands and songs weren’t good, but as a whole, it all just seemed a bit too slow paced. Anyway, about half way through it picked up, I think, and I hope you will enjoy it regardless. Part two of Brats in Leather Jackets was great, and the Beer Minute was a great Belgian Quadrupel. See you next week!

Rock N Roll Manifesto 94: Wood Shampoo

I hadn’t been this excited about a show in a long time. There was a lot going on: A shitload of stuff from the great Wood Shampoo Records, some rare Urban Voodoo Machine tracks, brand new Hex Dispensers, brand new Dirt Box Disco, a brand new segment called “Brats in Leather Jackets,” and a Beer Minute from a brand new local brewery. Awesome stuff! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Big thanks to Darran at Wood Shampoo Records, and don’t forget to go to the Wood Shampoo Records Facebook page and click that “like” button. Another big thanks to Christian from Mannheim for the “Brats in Leather Jackets” segment. Great stuff.

Rock N Roll Manifesto 93: Nervous Breakdown

Tonight’s Manifesto was all about mental issues: nervous breakdowns, insanity, panic attacks, depression, psychosis, madness, etc. It was kind of a last minute decision so it wasn’t planned out as well as it could have been, but I think it got the point across and included some really great music encompassing these very real subjects that so many people deal with.

Tonight’s Beer Minute was a so-called “Red India Pale Ale” that should have just left well enough alone and called itself a Red Ale. An IPA it was not! Still good, but not an IPA.

Rock N Roll Manifesto 92

Rock N Roll Manifesto 92! I actually left the house last weekend to go to a real live record store and picked up some vinyl, so a lot of tracks from those finds made it onto this show, including some Record Store Day releases. Other than that, just a normal Rock N Roll Manifesto, I guess, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, or something like that. Tonight’s Beer Minute featured my very first ever barleywine, fresh from my local brewery, and I played a song for my lovely wife and our 10 year wedding anniversary. Hope you enjoy the podcast.

Rock N Roll Manifesto 91

This was a weird show. Maybe you won’t even notice, or you wouldn’t have if I wouldn’t have said anything. I started off with a theme of really fast punk and/or rock songs, but never got a whole show together. Then I got a package from Saustex and wanted to include stuff from them. I still didn’t have a full show together after that, so I started just throwing in whatever. It was a last minute scramble to pull it all together. Hopefully you will enjoy it. Tonight’s Beer Minute was an Imperial Red Ale that missed the mark. No, it wasn’t Nugget Nectar.

Rock N Roll Manifesto 90: Beer Show 5

The Manifesto started a bit early tonight since there was no Burrito Electrico. So, I started out in normal Rock N Roll Manifesto fashion, and then the Beer Show started about 30 minutes in.

I smuggled some beers to Mag and Gentleman Matt that they can’t get out there in California and we had some live tastings on the air. The beers I sent them were Troegs Nugget Nectar (an imperial amber ale) and Souther Tier 2x Stout (a double milk stout). This was a fun experiment for us, and I’m sure we’ll be doing it again in reverse, after they send me some beers. We hope you enjoy it as well. We did play some music here and there, and I tricked Mag into liking a Dwarves song (Yay!).
